THE DIOCESE  OF INDIA

ARCHDEACON

The Venerable J. S. Kalukuri

The Metropolitan writes:

News has just reached us of the sudden death of The Rt Reverend Samuel Kalukuri Rajah Row, former Ordinary of the Diocese of India. His son Archdeacon Kalukuri reported that Bishop Rajah Row had suffered a heart attack at his home in the early hours of Sunday, 9th October 2005. He died later in hospital.

Archdeacon Kalukuri writes in his letter to the Metropolitan:

‘Bishop K. S. Rajah Row came to see me just three days before his death at my invitation, to discuss his restoration to this Church. He planned on sending a message to Your Grace on the afternoon of the 9th October before the commencement of the General Conference. 2005. But unfortunately Almighty God has taken him.’

The Metropolitan offered Mass in his Cathedral for the repose of the soul of Bishop Rajah Row on Saturday 14th January.

Please pray for Bishop Rajah Row, that he may rest in peace and rise in glory.

Pray for Archdeacon Kalukuri that his health may be preserved and that he may continue in his father’s footsteps. Pray for his wife and family in their sad loss.

Pray especially for the wife of the Archdeacon, Latha Kumari, who is seriously ill. This tragic family who have suffered so much in the recent past, not least with the death of their only son from leukaemia, are finding it very hard to find the cost of the medical fees for Latha, who is in urgent need of surgery.

A complete list of our clergy in the Diocese of India has recently been received from the Archdeacon.
